Le TEAM

Dad: Dad's burning ambition to finish the challenge  in one of the cherished top three positions very much depends on how his knees hold up, the 54,000 ft of climbing, and whether Mum, Sarah or LeDog make a late decision to switch from the support to the riding team. Dad has been busy in the pre-challenge period preparing maps (obviously) and making lots of lists of things to do.

Tom: Very much the pro rider in the team having clocked up hundreds of miles on his white Specialized bike, Tom is a familiar sight on the road racing circuit in his sick Rapha cap. He is now looking forward to pitting his wits against the long distance challenge offered by LeJog. Tom's pre-ride contributions to the adventure include creating the graphics on the team's shirts, getting the printing arranged and setting up LeBlog.

Greg: Although he is the youngster in the team, at 15 yrs of age, Greg has already covered a lot of road miles including  the grueling West Country Way (300 miles) the legendary 2009 Trois Pays Challenge, and recent events in Essex and Sussex. In the circuit of Isle of Wight in May he was a constant presence in the leading pack. His gold award in last months Tour de Weald showed that he has the pace to go with stamina over the longer distance.

Mum: The real team leader and the one who makes sure things really happen. Having recently gained her HGV (Hurdy Gurr Van) licence Mum has been seen stopping at cafes for big pint mugs of tea and Yorkie bars. Team Director for Logistics, Mum has made sure the van is well stocked with water, tasty breakfasts and kit kats. Although usually cool under interview she has recently confessed to being a member of the Caravan Club.

Sarah: Joining the team around the half way stage Sarah  is particulalry looking forward to the Scottish section of the trip..."my heart is in the highlands, I cant wait to get there, so I can't, izzit". Sarah is Fitness and Media Director and will be putting the team through a rigorous stretching and fitness regime that will push their bodies to the max. She will also take photos, filmage for the inevitable DVD, and handle the press.

LeDog (Holly): Holly was guaranteed her place in the team when no-one else was left to look after her. She isn't looking forward to the challenge because she can't think. Highlights of the trip for Holly will be breakfast and countless new things to smell. The boy's tent after the first week could send her to an olfactory heaven.
